Alan Wass' West London Blues Rock outfit The Lipstick Melodies are kicking off their residency at the Troubadour on Old Brompton Road on August 15!
The Lipstick Melodies are a young, vibrant band that capture a musicality and lifestyle that tastes of rock and roll at it’s initial implosion- when the music of Chuck Berry and Howlin’ Wolf was being twisted to fit the commercial vitality of the Beatles and the Stones. The Lipstick Melodies’ kinship with Rock and Roll cred doesn’t end there- their latest single, Golden Heartaches wouldn’t sound out of place in the line up of Fleetwood Mac’s Rumours.
What hits you first when you watch them play is not just the superior musicianship, each player- Alan Wass on guitar and vocals, Ritchie Stevens on keys, Phil Clarke on drums and Alexsi on bass- are masters of their respective instruments, but the fierce, sharp encapsulation of what should be by-gone days. The sets played for their residency at the Troubadour in Earl’s Court seem to conjure the ghosts from the venue’s historic walls.
Come down and share a toast to the rebirth of Rock and Roll!
The Troubadour offers happy hour two for one cocktails until 9 pm.
